Why do I need a separate Microsoft 365 backup?
Microsoft keeps the cloud service available but does not give you a separate backup of your Microsoft 365 data. You are accountable for protecting the data held in it.
If someone deletes a file in OneDrive or SharePoint, it is only kept for a limited time. A backup that runs several times a day, and that you can restore from in detail, is what lets you recover from an accidental deletion, a corrupted file or an attack.

Does Microsoft back up my Microsoft 365 data?
No. Microsoft keeps the service running, but you are responsible for protecting the data held in it. This is known as the shared responsibility model. Deleted files are only kept for a limited time, so a separate backup is how you recover from deletion, corruption or an attack.
What is a Direct Cloud Solution Provider?
A Direct CSP buys Microsoft licences straight from Microsoft and supports them for you. Lanmark is a Tier 1 Direct CSP, which gives us access to Microsoft support resources on your behalf.
What does a Microsoft 365 licence review involve?
We look at the licences you pay for against how they are used, to check you have the most suitable and cost-effective options, and tidy up any that are unassigned or duplicated.
